Interview Process
The interview consisted of four rounds. Overall, the experience was very good, with well-designed questions. However, I decided not to proceed with the offer due to the low compensation and the lengthy discussions about the company’s IPO story. The colleagues seemed nice, but the work culture was intense, with frequent overtime and weekend work being the norm.
Technical Questions
- System Design: Questions related to designing a platform based on labels for detecting duplicates. The problem required attention to detail, but the interviewer provided reminders if I forgot any aspects.
- Machine Learning Knowledge: General questions about common embedding models and the importance of schedulers. Being able to discuss trade-offs would have been beneficial.
- Debugging: Similar to geographical debugging tasks. Familiarity with the VSCode environment was crucial. The coding required basic parsing skills. I faced issues logging into the environment, which added pressure. The debugging process relied heavily on prompts, and it was more about getting the code to run than overcomplicating the logic.
